BioShell made from plants slogan

BioShell Tableware utilizes a range of renewable plant-based materials in the manufacturing of our products. Our packaging is designed to be compostable in commercial facilities that adhere to accepted composting standards.

Paper

We responsibly procure paper and cardboard from sustainable sources, incorporating recycled content whenever possible. Our utilization encompasses BioShell Tableware hot cups, soup containers, Bon Appetit bowls, and an array of takeaway containers.

Polyactic Acid (PLA)

Biodegradable plant-based plastic sourced from natural sugars.
We derive glucose from milled corn, followed by a fermentation process to generate lactic acid. This lactic acid is subsequently transformed into a polymer and shaped into pellets. The resulting PLA is incorporated into our transparent items such as cold cups and deli containers, as well as lining our board-based products. For enhanced heat resistance, CPLA (crystallized PLA) is employed, particularly in the production of lids and cutlery.

Molded Fiber

Derived from a residual byproduct of the sugarcane industry.
Bagasse serves as a sturdy and environmentally friendly substitute for polystyrene, suitable for both hot and cold food. Crafted from reclaimed sugarcane, our bagasse utilizes the dry fibrous residue remaining after the extraction of sugarcane juice. The fibers undergo a high-heat, high-pressure process to shape and mold them, ultimately forming our takeaway boxes, plates, and bowls.

Wood

We proudly support the use of wood, offering both bamboo and birch options. These renewable resources are utilized in our wooden cutlery, contributing to our diverse and sustainable product range.
